in hasle ... just before leaving. Back on Friday.

My research work on trust and mindset leads to very interesting conclusions on how to map mindset and decide how to proceed from there.
All I could read here makes good sense.
May be we take this upon my return.
Rene Rupert, research fellow / HEIG-VD Yverdon Switzerland, based in Lyon-F

cheers

Nice article, Stefan. Agree that much has to do with the mindset. Here in Philips Bruges (Belgium), we develop high end Flat Televisions. With that respect we have quite some suppliers who are in our eco systems & who deliver sub modules for the integral TV. Having an open mind & looking continuously for the right suppliers is an important element. Beside that, I believe that a lot of knowledge is in the minds of all people. If we are able to connect more with consumers, experts in one of the disciplines but in a complete different field, students, ... our chances on innovation increases. We are at the moment having brainstorming sessions with half of the attendants coming from outside & you can do a lot of them. It gives fresh ideas, you are in touch with consumers & the internal attendants are learning a lot, strengthening their network & changing the way they think. Can not more agree that you need strong commitment from management. It took several meetings to convince them but it's worth. One of the important elements you face in a traditional organization is IP. One of the parties I invited, was not willing to come because they were afraid that the IP they brought it was not going to be protected. This is indeed trust. Personally I believe that IP is important, however less than the possibility of creating something together which is innovating & then be there fast with an upgrade, a new thing, .. since the copy machine is always on, even if the idea is protected. Let me know your thoughts on how to deal with the 'Ecosystem' & 'IP protection'
