Free Book: Social Media for Corporate Innovators and Entrepreneurs

How can companies use social media to bring out better innovation faster?

Over the last year or two, I have learned that this question is being asked by many corporate innovators and entrepreneurs around the world.

Now, I am about to offer my perspective and some answers to this – and many other questions – on the intersection of social media and (open) innovation in my upcoming book, Social Media for Corporate Innovators and Entrepreneurs: Add Power to Your Innovation Efforts.

It is due as an e-book mid-August, but if you are a blogger or a social media influencer, I offer you a free PDF-copy already today.

Just send me a request and a few words on how you can help spread the word of the book and I will forward you the PDF-copy. My e-mail is stefanlindegaard @ me.com (leave out the blank spaces).

The book looks into issues such as:

• What is social media and how can the different types of social media help bring out better innovation faster?
• What are the benefits of using social media for innovation efforts?
• What are the challenges?
• How should companies approach social media for this purpose?
• How can individuals get a better understanding of social media and start building their capabilities?

The use of social media as part of the innovation process is still in its very early stages, but make no mistake, this trend is gaining momentum every day, and there is no turning back. As an example of this, I can mention a recent meeting with Ashish Chatterjee, who is the head of Connect+Develop, the open innovation initiative at P&G. We had a great talk and I really took notice when Ashish said he believes the Internet and social media are the key drivers for the future development of open innovation.

I agree. Social media has the potential to be a game changer for how companies innovate and companies need to pay full attention to the intersection of open innovation and social media if they want to out-innovate their competitors. This might be unchartered territory, but it is full of interesting opportunities.

I hope you will like my upcoming book : – )

I pressed the "read more" arrow, to read the rest of the article explaining how to get the ebook on using social media for business. It led me to this comment page. I would like to read the rest of the article..

  2. This is a crucial topic to enhance the open innovation challenge. Social media are the present and the future. But it seems they are not ready to support open innovation model for industrial companies, because you don't have the possibility to filter properly the network of "inventors". The risk is to have a bottle neck in the innovation funnel, that can't be managed by the company.
Social media could integrate tools (usually based on neural network) to cluster the ideas.
There are some companies who have developed good solutions, like COGNISTREAMER & INNOVATION FACTORY.

I'm very much looking forward to get my hands on the book as PDF file.
In the last few years I've seen huge investments in social medias, but few organisations seems to have a clear idea or strategy for the use and what to expect from social media.
The vendors often use collaborative innovation as an important selling point, but again few organisations have a strategy for how to drive innovation results from their investments in social media.
