How Social Media Gets Better for Innovation Efforts: HootSuite Conversations
Social media tools are improving all the time and they also keep getting better for innovation efforts.
I have written about Twitter as being an important tool for innovation and I have mentioned that HootSuite is my favourite filtering tool for staying updated on open innovation. Now, they have added HootSuite Conversations, which is a new internal collaboration tool in free beta that allows you to have real-time, internal conversations with everyone in your organization, or with individual teams, without leaving the HootSuite dashboard.
The benefits of Conversations include:
Simplify Communication: Converse with anyone you work with, collaborate with, and share messaging with, easily and intuitively within the HootSuite dashboard.
Internal Conversations – External Engagement: Send social messages to internal conversations for teams to discuss and redistribute across multiple social networks.
Collaborate with Everyone: Easily add anyone to discuss social messages and receive approved messaging. Communicate with your team, department or entire organization, without leaving the HootSuite dashboard.
I think this could be become a nice little tool for innovation partners to communicate and collaborate across organizational boundaries. Of course, we still have intellectual property rights issues to consider, but I imagine that we will have some good solutions for this within a couple of years. We are definitely heading in the right direction.

I jusy love Hootsuite. It has been a vital tool in my work and also my volunteer work. I introduced Hootsuite to my Habitat fro Humanity center in NJ and they love it. So much easier to filter and schedule regular posts.
